Located in Northern Urals, at 5-6km from Usva village, on the main peak of Rudyansky hills (526m), the Stone Town (local name - Devil Town or Cherepakhi"the tortoises") is a big rock massif composed by fine-grained quartz sandstones of Lower Carboniferous. The massif is broken by deep fissures (up to 8-12m), creating the illusion of deep and narrow perpendicularly crossed streets, side streets and lanes of an ancient deserted town.
